- Earlier date for the race - no weeds.
- The Rec class has been changed from 9 km to 8 km.
- Several outrigger classes can be created on the day of the race - depending on the number of outriggers showing up. We are expecting more outriggers and rec kayakers this year.
- A professional timing system, supplied by RRResults.
- Welcome package for each paddler with course descriptions.
